WSBTA’s Electronic Filing Policy

This is the WSBTA’s electronic filing policy as of 2/14/2017.

The Board will accept Adobe .pdf, Word, Excel, and .jpg files, as provided below, with the same legal effect as a paper document.

  1. For existing appeals, you may file submissions by email at: bta@bta.wa.gov, within the file size limitations (currently 30MB).  You must include the WSBTA docket number in the subject line of your email.
  2. For new appeals, you may file the appeal by email, at the address above.

Electronic files received prior to 5 p.m. on a business day are deemed received on that day. Electronic files received after 5 p.m. or on a weekend or state holiday are deemed received the next business day.  The time of receipt of an electronically filed document is the time shown by the Board’s electronic mail system.

Unless requested or ordered by the Board, parties should not file paper copies of electronically transmitted documents.  This process is approved by this posting, regardless of the requirements of WAC 456-10-325(b) or WAC 456-09-325(b).  Note the Board will generally request paper copies in formal cases.

Parties may maintain original documents in their files. The Board does not require an original document or an original signature.
