June Board Meeting Rescheduled to the 25th

The Board meeting scheduled for June 25, 2026, has been rescheduled. The Board's June Board meeting will now be held on Thursday June 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

Change to Pro Hac Vice Policy

Out-of-state attorneys may practice before the BTA with permission of the Board under either 456-09-210 for formal hearings or 456-10-210 for informal hearings. New Rules Effective January 15, 2025.

The Board has made changes to WAC 456-09 and WAC 456-10.

These updates will be published on January 15, 2025. Please be sure to review the rules for their effective changes.

Building Access

Due to building security upgrades, access to the third floor now requires an employee ID badge. Please call our main line at 360-753-5446 when you arrive or make an appointment prior to the day of your hearing and an employee will meet you at the door and escort you to the third floor. 

E-File System Unavailable

Regrettably, our E-file system is no longer available. Appeals may still be filed by the following means:

Change to Direct Appeal Policy

The Board will consider direct appeals that involve complex issues that require expertise beyond the County Board of Equalization’s proficiency.

Certification Forms Now Available

A Certification Form for representatives practicing with the approval of the board is now available on our Forms and Publications page.

Notice of Hearings - Appellant Responses Required

Beginning with hearings scheduled to occur on or after July 1, 2019, appellants will be required to respond to the Notice of Hearing and confirm attendance.

If you are an appellant, and you do not respond to the Notice of Hearing within thirty days from the date that notice is mailed, the Board may dismiss your case.

The Board will accept Adobe .pdf, Word, Excel, and .jpg files, as provided below, with the same legal effect as a paper document.
